SIX

 Six years of wedded bliss today.  I wish I could post pics from our wedding but I don't have any on this computer, so here are a bunch of random flash back shots.

This man is seriously my best friend.  The best thing that ever happened to me or ever will happen to me.  I know he loves me for who I am and can see the best in me when I can't see it in myself.  I had to steal a quote from the nie nie dialogues because it was just too perfect:

Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.

Isn't that beautiful?  I love it because it is so true!  Love is not the crazy "earthquake" that you begin with, it is what resides when the earthquake is over.  Reid is that person who loves me at the weirdest times, tells me I am the most beautiful without makeup or nice clothes on, and the crazy thing is, I believe him.  He thinks I look BETTER now that I have had kids, because he appreciates my body for what it has done, and I BELIEVE him.  He encourages all my crazy ideas, even if they are short lived.  He is my calm in the storm.  I know we will be together forever, for eternity.  Our roots are already intertwined.  I love him.
